So Bad It's Good: Watch 'Wild Wild West' With MoPOP + Special Guest Dewa Dorje!
Movies you love to hate: everybody’s got ‘em. They’re the cinematic junk food that feeds our souls, tickles our funny bone, and rolls our eyes. That’s why they’re the focus of our next film series: So Bad It’s Good.
Hosted by MoPOP’s very own Kasi Gaarenstroom, this all-virtual series will take place every second Saturday of the month at 6:00pm PST, with each screening featuring a special guest who will fight for the legitimacy of their favorite movie flop. Audience participation is highly encouraged—attendees can sound off in the chat and heckle (or praise) the current movie!
So grab some popcorn, fire up the ol’ internet, and get ready to cringe on January 9, 2021 as we celebrate Wild Wild West, an alternate history romp set in the American West with not one, but TWO characters played by Kevin Kline?? That’s a wild wild YES from us! If two Kevin Kline’s aren’t enough to entice you, just remember back to the hit song from the original soundtrack that was inescapable in 1999...
Our special guest for Saturday's Wild Wild West watchalong is Dewa Dorje, a Tibetan American stand-up comic from Seattle. Her frank comedic style, upbeat energy, and immigrant background blend together to bring the audience a unique feminist perspective. She runs a female-focused open mic “The Comedy Nest” and has performed all over the west coast, Bumbershoot Festival, and All Jane Comedy Festival. She can’t wait to see where her comedy career takes her next.
