Must-See New Artifacts Have Landed in Infinite Worlds of Sci-Fi

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft (also Earth)! An entire wall of shiny new content has touched down in our Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction exhibit, which means MoPOP is beaming to the top of your Seattle summer must-visit plans.

What’s new?

  • Model of the Death Star from Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi(1983)
  • Borg costume from the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994)
  • Captain Kirk command chair from the television series Star Trek (1966-1969)
  • Life-size Donatello from the motion picture Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993)
  • Screen-used full-scale T-X endoskeleton model from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
  • Life-size Cornelius display with original costume from the film Planet of the Apes (1968)
  • Original T. I. E. Fighter filming miniature from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977)
  • Original Stormtrooper helmet used in both Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Why does it matter?

Who said that?

Just look at that list again: Star Trek, Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, Terminator 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles??? This is late-20th century pop culture gold right here. This is legacy. This is history. This is the actual real thing, all for you.

Why is it worth the trip?

These major pieces are displayed along their own wall (read: plenty of room) in gorgeous new cases ideal for your finest selfie game. Get close, get the shot, and get your friends (and foes) talking about the close encounter of the ultra-coolest kind you had at MoPOP.
