PhD Candidate and Research Fellow
Northwestern University
Jabari Evans is a PhD candidate studying Media, Technology and Society at Northwestern University and a research fellow at Northwestern's Center of Media and Human Development. His research focuses on the communities that urban youth and young adults of color develop and inhabit to understand their social environments, emotional development and professional aspirations. He explores strategies these youth use for prosocial self-expression, often implicating Hip-Hop cultural production and usage of social networking sites. A native Chicagoan, Jabari enjoyed a decorated career as a hip hop songwriter and producer performing under the moniker of "Naledge" in the rap group Kidz in the Hall.
