A piece from one of the most popular science fiction artists of the 20th century has been added to the Science Fiction + Fantasy Hall of Fame at the Museum of Pop Culture, where visitors to MoPOP can now find Coming Home, a painting by SFFHOF inductee Frank Kelly Freas.

Freas, who has created hundreds of book and magazine covers including helping to define the look of mascot Alfred E. Neuman for Mad Magazine, created the newly-installed work for the frontispiece of the 2001 Easton Press hardcover edition of Elizabeth Ann Scarborough's 1988 novel, The Healer's War.

The Healer's War tells the story of Lieutenant Kitty McCulley, a young military nurse, who is helped through the horrors of the Vietnam War with the assistance of a magical amulet. The coming-of-age novel delves into the destructive nature of humanity, racism, and trauma, and won the Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1989.
